Meet Chris
A "Marylander" born and bred, who now lives in downtown Frederick.
He's single and has a seven year old son, who you might meet, helping out on the campaign trail. Chris
grew up in Annapolis and graduated from Annapolis High School where he received All-County accolades as a Goalie on the Lacrosse
Team.
Chris Huckenpoehler is a respected combat
veteran, a 43 year-old conservative committed to promoting job creation and revitalizing the economy, protecting the homeland
and preserving our conservative values. The call to serve his country is not a new one. Chris sworn the
oath to defend the Constitution of the United States as a 19-year old Marine and served for 10 years as a Ground-pounder,
Paratrooper and Drill Instructor. Chris is a recipient of the Purple Heart and U.S. Army Soldiers Medal
for Heroism after service in Iraq in 1991. He received his Honorable Discharge in 2000.
Chris is a former business owner and has lived and worked in Frederick since 1998.
He currently works in the I.T. Industry with a specialty in the building and management of Network Operations
Centers. He has worked in various volunteer positions to include Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics
and the Frederick County Commission on Disabilities. He is currently a volunteer member of the Frederick County Substance
Abuse Council.
“Why Frederick!
I chose to live in Frederick, because I like the beauty and quaintness of the city and the scenic countryside.
It’s a great place to raise a child, a little slower pace than some other parts of Maryland, and of course the
people of Frederick are great. Frederick's historic buildings are beautiful, Courthouse Square is home
to Maryland's first governor Thomas Johnson, and the rolling farmland marks the landscape in Frederick County where dairy
farming is still the top industry. And let’s not forget the Great Frederick Fair - it’s a must
do for all ages.”
“I launched my campaign in February 2010 on “Common Sense”
and “Prosperity through Freedom”, highlighting Frederick’s number one issues: jobs and
the economy. As I go door to door to your homes, and visit local businesses in the community, meeting the
citizens of Frederick has given me so much more insight into the issues that affect our lives on a daily basis.
To be given the opportunity to serve as State Delegate of Frederick County-District 3A would be an honor.
I would like the opportunity to serve District 3A, and I hope you will give me the chance to represent you in
Annapolis. We can do this together! I’m not a politician; I’m your neighbor
who hears your concerns loud and clear.”
Chris’s mother Betty (90 years old) and father Bill (deceased), both are originally from Minnesota.
His mom teaches ballroom instruction in and around her home in Annapolis and enjoys volunteer work with the Elks Club
and various civic organizations. His dad was a Naval Academy Graduate who retired after 22 years of service
that included action in the pacific during World War II and service as a UDT/Frogman (they call them SEALS, now). After
retiring, Bill served as a Professor at the Naval Academy for 29 years, teaching Midshipmen Nuclear and Mechanical Engineering.
Bill worked with many volunteer organizations before his death in 1995. Chris has one sister and one brother,
who currently work hard alongside him in an effort to make his campaign a success.

An Inglorious Past, provided openly by Chris
Here it is, folks – I’m showing my inglorious
past to allow my campaign and all the volunteers that help and believe in me to be free and clear of public skepticism or
persecution.
Personal
Note: While I know he will learn of it all from me, I’m still hoping that my 7 year old son Jack
will at least learn from my mistakes and not repeat them. That is my intention as he gets older.

What Happened:
DUI in Annapolis - 1986
Why it happened: I was a teenager that made a bad decision to drive that morning.
My Response:
No excuses. None. I did something very dumb.

What Happened: Arrested for driving
while on a suspended license in 2006
Why it happened: My license was suspended in 1986 – 20 years in the past. I’d
held valid North Carolina and Virginia licenses because that was where I was stationed in the Marine Corps.
My Response: I simply did
not know that my Maryland license was suspended because I had not been pulled over. I found out the hard way, received a Probation
Before Judgment (PBJ) and have not been pulled over since. My Maryland license for my Truck and Harley are now currently up
to date!

What Happened: Arrested for being unruly in public – Class 4 misdemeanor
Why it happened: Disagreement
with a Deputy Sherriff over the ownership of my tractor
My Response: The tractor belonged to me, but tractors don’t
have titles. The Deputy simply got tired of my argument over ownership. I was released and the County chose
to throw it out and not prosecute.
Welcome, to
my world of being a human…
