Less Taxes

As we all know death and taxes are a reality. But did you know that Maryland is the fourth highest taxed state in the nation?    Our current tax system is not working, not for individuals, not for families, and not for small business.  In 2006 Maryland was ranked 24th nationally in economic competitiveness and by 2009 Maryland ranked 45th. Maryland needs to become more business friendly, and how do we do that?  We do that by lowering taxes.  

We need to support the farm community, preserving our farmland – farming is Maryland’s leading industry!  One third (2 million acres) of Maryland's land is in farms, and we need to keep it that way. 

We need to help grow small business, create jobs, and strengthen our economy.  As businesses become more confident and secure with their progress the results will create more revenue for the State without raising taxes.  I have a plan to promote invitational taxation for business and residents and to make our county the destination we know it can be.  I am pro-growth at a measured, smart and sustainable pace.

Together, I know we can work to make our home a wonderful state for everyone to live, work and play.  However, as I knock on doors and try to meet even more of our neighbors, I consistently find the same response from folks:  “Lower My Taxes”.  I hope you’ll agree, we can do much better than the frustration I hear almost every day at the front doors here in District 3A.

Streamline Government

Stop the illegal immigration and have the Federal Government enforce the current laws, if they don’t stop this, we will become a sanctuary city/state.  Pass legislation in Maryland to protect us from illegal immigration.  The Federal Government should be protecting the States and the Country.  I believe in Legal Immigration. So, as long as we all paying attention to the debacle in our State, we understand that Government in its entity continues to take more control of our freedoms and liberties.  Our current Delegation for District 3A has sponsored, or co-sponsored more than 70 bill in Annapolis some were valid, many more were frivolous.

Simply stated, we need less Government.  I Say STOP!

 Less Crime

I consistently support and promote aggressive law enforcement, and as Delegate I will do everything I can for our families and neighbors to ensure we remain safe.  We need to ensure the safety of our children from sexual predators, the current LAWS against these criminals are not enough.  We must protect our children!  I am extremely concerned about the safety and protection of our children.

I am Pro-Second Amendment “Your Right to Bear Arms” and I believe there are few things as clearly defined as the right of individual American to own and use firearms.  The right to bear arms was deemed so critical by our Founders that they spelled it out in absolute terms, and it is my belief that any governmental action which undermines that right is in turn undermining the very freedoms that built our great nation.  No one should try to discredit the wisdom of our founding fathers.

Education

First, I would like English as the official language of Frederick County and also throughout the State of Maryland, and to be taught correctly in the schools.  Education should be about our children – not about unions.  Our children should be better educated in Math and Science, which will allow them more opportunities in the future.  Teachers and parents should communicate closely as to the student’s progress in the classroom and at home.  If teachers and parents are responsible for doing their part in the child’s education, it’s a Win Win situation for our children.  Schools should be responsible for educating our children not babysitting.  We need to seek the best and the brightest for the Frederick School System.  Let’s learn the basics first READING, WRITING, and ARITHMETIC and then we can proceed on to a better education for our children.  I am extremely passionate about the education of our children.
